HEALTHCAREfirst Data Facilities are multi-homed between multiple national tier-1 carriers. These carriers utilize physically diverse paths out to our Clients. One connection is a clear channel DS-3 (45Mbps) directly to the AT&T OC-12 backbone. The second connection is with Sprint and is also a clear channel DS-3 (45Mbps) connected to the Sprint) C-12 backbone. BGP4 (Border Gateway Protocol) runs on both edge routers with a 1 Gbps redundant link between them. This extensive fiber optic network provides HEALTHCAREfirst high bandwidth data services directly to our Data Facilities and is the basis for HEALTHCAREfirst internet access.

HEALTHCAREfirst is collocated in each carriers POP. These carriers are routed to two geographically diverse, hardened Data Centers. From there, our connections are extended to our Underground Collocation Facility via diverse paths on a100% private fiber optic network. Security in the HEALTHCAREfirst Data Facility includes: 80 Feet Underground with environmental control systems 24/7 Guard on duty Video surveillance of all areas Locked equipment areas Multiple layers of sophisticated security for physical access.
