November is Home Care & Hospice Month
Spread the Word About Home Health & Hospice Care.
Did you know?
- Nurses, therapists and home care aides who serve chronically ill and disabled patients drive nearly five billion miles each year?
- In 2012, nearly two million patients received services from hospice, and that number has steadily increased over the years.
- According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, by 2020, the number of home health and personal care aides will increase nearly 70% compared 2010 numbers.
- There were an estimated 400,000 hospice volunteers providing 10 million hours of service in 2012.
November is a great month to meet with your elected officials about the value of home health and hospice. Ask for their support, sharing your stories of caring for patients in their homes.
