November is National Home Care & Hospice Month
Celebrating Home Care and Hospice Caregivers.
The month of November is Home Care & Hospice Month! Thousands of home care and hospice professionals across the nation are honored for the key role they play in our health care system.
Did you know:
- More than 12 million people in the United States require some form of home health care, and more than 1.6 million people receive hospice services.
- There are just over 6,000 hospice providers and more than 12,000 home health providers nationwide.
- 78 million baby boomers just turn 65, and the remaining boomers will reach this age in the next two decades.
Health care money is growing even scarcer as a result of these numbers. NAHC encourages home care providers and the patients they care for to connect with your elected officials about the value of home care. Ask your lawmakers to support home health and hospice!
HEALTHCAREfirst would like to say thank you to the thousands of home health and hospice nurses, therapists, aides, volunteers and other caregivers who work hard to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care in their homes each and every day.
