Home Health Regulatory Update: CY2018 Proposed Rule
August 24, 2017 | 1:00 pm CT | FREE! | REGISTER
CMS recently released the proposed rule for the Home Health Prospective Payment System (HH PPS) for CY2018. The proposal included changes for both CY2018 and CY2019. The CY2019 proposed changes are significant and would implement a new case-mix methodology, called the home health groupings model (HHGM), and would reduce the unit of payment from a 60-day to a 30-day episode of care. The proposed HHGM would rely on clinical characteristics and other patient information, rather than the current therapy service-use thresholds, to set payments.
Please join HEALTHCAREfirst‘s Director of Regulatory Compliance, Deanna Loftus, and home health regulatory expert Mary St. Pierre, RN, BSN, MGA, for a discussion of these significant proposed changes and how they may impact you.

- Case-Mix Adjustment Methodology Refinements for CY2019

President Trump has taken office with a Republican majority in both the Senate and House of Representatives. The new administration already has taken action that will impact home care, including the failed appeal of the Affordable Care Act, and nominating Alexander Acosta as the next Secretary of Labor and Judge Neil Gorsuch as the next U.S. Supreme Court justice. What do these and other developments mean for home care companies? No one can say with certainty what will happen, but investigations and lawsuits against healthcare and home care companies continue to rise, while the new political administration’s policy agenda remains in flux.
