Home Health Face-to-Face Encounter Documentation Requirements: Denials Survey

Home Health Face-to-Face Encounter Documentation Requirements

Recently, two CMS contractors announced widespread edits of home health providers focusing on the face-to-face encounter documentation requirements.  These contractors now expect physicians to write detailed descriptions of a patient’s condition to support the need for skilled services and homebound status.

National Association of Home Care (NAHC) will once again be presenting a case to CMS that the more stringent face-to-face requirement guidelines is putting home health agencies in an in indefensible position.  They are looking to gather solid data from home health agencies to present to CMS.

HEALTHCAREfirst encourages you to please take a moment to complete the Home Health Face-to-Face Encounter Documentation Requirements Denials Survey survey and provide NAHC with the information it needs to present a solid case against these stricter guidelines.
