Message from HEALTHCAREfirst President & CEO.
My wife and kids decided we should sit down as a family and watch a movie. My youngest child is eight, so as you can imagine, our family movie nights feature animated characters, horses or very silly grownups in “G” or “PG” rated movies. I always like to complain about the titles they pick out, but as much as I hate to admit it, I usually end up liking these movies.
My daughter picked a movie called, “We Bought a Zoo.” I thought to myself, “Oh boy. Great, another silly sleeper.” Turns out, this WAS a great movie with a wonderful theme that very clearly depicted the importance of dignity at end of life, grief and the bereavement process. I loved it!
While watching this movie, I couldn’t help but think about each of you. With everything that we are facing (reimbursement cuts, burdensome regulatory requirements, a very small number of “bad apples” in our industry that bring us down, etc.), you continue to provide exceptional care for our nation’s most vulnerable population, the elderly.
I am very proud to be a part of our home health and hospice industry. I want to thank you for taking care of your community, and want you to know that HEALTHCAREfirst is your committed partner.
